Interview with Jonathan Fox, 2004
Laura: Come in. Sit down. Would you like some soda?
Jonathan: Soda’s fine, but if you have any tea, that would be lovely, cheers, darlin’.
1) Do you wear boxer or briefs? I quite like boxer-briefs, actually. On the road I wear whatever my wardrobe runner has picked up. Touring guys can’t be too picky.
2) Are you satisfied? In a way, yes. I’m at the top of my game. But in a way, no. I’m always trying to outdo myself. And if you meant satisfied in my love life…well…
3) Lace or nothing at all? You seem nice, so I’m gonna let you in on a tiny secret…most blokes like it when a little something is left to the imagination. So a bit of lace is great. Leopard print is even better…
4) Favorite: Top, Bottom, Wall, or Table? Hmm, Jasmine seems to end up on top a lot. As for wall or table, whatever’s most convenient at the time, yeah?
5) Who is the biggest jerk/bitch you’ve ever come across in your life and why? I work in the music biz, so this is a tough call. I’d say my ex-girlfriend Rafaela takes the queen bitch prize, though. And I never did get the chance to drive her Bentley.
6) What are you attracted to first on the opposite sex? Hate to sound shallow, but big dark eyes and a sweet smile will win me over with a quickness. Good conversation skills will keep me around, though.
7) You’re dancing in the rain. What song are you singing out loud? Ah, if I tried dancing in the rain, my feet and head would want to trade places inside of two seconds!
8) Did you turn out the way you expected? The way your parents predicted? Everyone expected me to be a nerdy concert pianist but I turned out to be a Rock star, so I’d give a resounding “NO!” on that one!
9) What is your greatest regret? I try not to have them. See this tattoo on my upper chest? That says ‘live without regrets’ in Irish. That said, though, I wish I hadn’t let Jasmine go when we both lived in Phoenix. Thankfully, we’ve gotten back on a good track now.
10) Have you ever cheated or been tempted to cheat? Cheated? No. I’ve been cheated on and it’s miserable. Been tempted? Well, I enjoy the eye candy backstage. But other than putting my arm around someone for a photo op, I would never touch another woman besides Jasmine. My Wild One is all I need.
11) Have you ever had a one-night stand? In the early days of the band, more than I can count. Later, not so much. Things can get…complicated rather quickly.
